The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has released the notification for Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical (JIO-II/Tech) for a total of 394 posts. Eligibility |
- Candidates must possess a Diploma in Engineering in fields such as Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Applications from a government-recognized university/institute.
- OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with main subjects being Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics from a government-recognized university/institute.
- OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications (BCA) from a government-recognized university/institute.
- Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards as specified in the official notification.

Selection Process |
- Tier-I: Online Examination (Objective type Multiple Choice Questions).
- Tier-II: Skill Test.
- Tier-III: Personal Interview.
- Document Verification.
- Medical Examination.
- Final merit list based on performance in all stages.

Pay Scale |
- Pay Level 4: ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 (basic pay).
- Special Security Allowance (SSA): 20% of basic pay.
- Other allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA).
- Estimated in-hand salary: Approximately ₹35,291 to ₹40,000 per month.

Syllabus (Tier-I) |
- General Mental Ability: Indian History, Current Affairs, Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Important Days and Dates, Number System, Percentage, Time and Work, Profit and Loss, Mixture and Alligation, Data Interpretation, Coding-Decoding, Series, Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
- English: Vocabulary, Cloze Test, Error Spotting.
- Technical Subjects: Relevant to the candidate’s educational qualification (Electronics, Computer Science, IT, etc.).
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Qualifying Marks: UR-35, OBC-34, SC/ST-33, EWS-35.
