| Eligibility |
- I.Sc. (Biology or Mathematics) or 10+2 (Biology or Mathematics).
- 2-year Diploma in Optometry or 2 years of training as an Ophthalmic Assistant at any recognized Government Hospital as per NPCB (National Programme for Control of Blindness) guidelines.
- OR 2-year Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant from a Government, Private, or Semi-Government institute recognized by the Government of Bihar.

- Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100 objective-type questions, 400 marks, 2 hours duration, with negative marking (1 mark deducted per wrong answer).
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates must present original certificates and mark sheets.
- Final Selection: Based on CBT performance and document verification.

- Contractual Salary: ₹15,000/- per month (fixed).
- Job Tenure: 11 months, extendable up to age 60 based on performance.

- Operate diagnostic equipment.
- Administer eye drops and perform eye cleaning.
- Conduct preliminary examinations and prepare reports for eye conditions.
- Assist in eye surgeries.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Offer first aid for eye injuries, chemical burns, or foreign objects in the eye.
